Below is my design project for LoveShackfancy, a visual experience through the pages of a sentimental girl’s scrapbook. As a Collaboration & Specialty Projects intern, I decided to create a project based on a collaboration with the brand and Lirika Matoshi, a sustainable all-female fashion house based in NYC. The two brands align in values but vary slightly in aesthetics. I aimed to blend the two aesthetics to create a collection embracing design differences, and highlighting the shared love of vintage reference, bold silhouettes, sustainable practices, and femininity. The collection is rooted in the practice and visuals of scrapbooking, as collecting memorabilia reflects the timelessness and vintage nostalgia of LoveShackfancy, utilizing unused fabrics to create upcycled appliques and bespoke garments. The collection highlights my ability to sketch and create technical flats, create mood boards based on aesthetics and seasonal inspiration, note trims and fabrications, and engineer prints with smooth repeats from hand-painted watercolors.
